Random thoughts

My parents left today back to India after staying for 5 months with me. Just sitting here is an empty apartment, I can tell you, is the most empty feeling I have felt in a long long time. I need a distraction and I think I will be going to the library in a lil bit.

I will be back with a watchlist tonight.

Watchlist for tomorrow 9/25/2007

The watchlist is essentially the same, with focus on taking positions on pullbacks on low volume. In addition, I am adding ALXN, HOC, SU to the watchlist.

Look out for shorts in airlines, financials.

Good luck!

ICE

I will be damned. ICE is up 6pts AH. Another miss from my watclist with a nice gain.

CROX, WYNN

I am still hung up on these two misses from today. There were so many opportunities to enter, especially WYNN, the funny thing is both the charts look exactly the same dont they? Probably a lot of buyers were viewing the same two stocks like me, except they made a move and I did not.

That being said, I cannot believe how extended the weekly chart of WYNN is.

If you are reading this, do make sure to go over Market Speculator's watchlist. He has always made great trades, add it to your google reader list.

AAPL trade

I offloaded my AAPL stake this morning for a nice gain. I watched a couple of nice gains go by in CROX and WYNN. I didnt go for them as I saw some weakness in the overall market, plus I was also celebrating a 10% gain over the last 3 weeks in my trading portfolio.

I will not be trading tomorrow, but I may make a watchlist in case anyone reads this blog.

Ciao!

Barrons articles this week

Two articles caught my eyes this weekend that are mirrored with nice technical setups.

LEH has a nice pullback on low volume and Barrons has a bullish article on it, the details of which I would not go into.

RS also has a nice consolidation pattern over the last week.

I will be keeping an eye on both.

Watchlist for 09/22/2007

Ok, so I have not posted for the last two weeks. Primarily because I was pretty pissed about how I was trading and also, since my parents were in town I was busy with them. My watchlist is below. There are a number of market leaders breaking out to new highs.

I am hoping for a bounce and am keeping an eye on both longs and shorts. I have a leader for most groups in this watchlist and ofcourse, if one of the leaders is showing strength it is a good idea to take a look at the sector. OII looks particularly nice.

BIDU trades

I made a couple of trades on breakouts in BIDU for a small loss. I am dissappointed in myself in that I did not set up a good stop and a good target on these trades. i will be watching the markets from the sideline. BIDU and GRMN are both leaders in this market and breakout have not been very convincing. The bad housing report this morning is plaguing this market and I think we need more direction before I can feel safe to enter long. I will ofcourse be looking for shorts and I was tempted by weakness in the financials today. Till then I will be on the sidelines eating popcorn.

GRMN trade

I got out of GRMN and did another quick trade for a $200 gain. The chart still appeals to me.

Watchlist for 09/5/2007

Labels:

Trades today, NOV, AMZN and GRMN

I made two quick trades on NOV and AMZN today for nice profits totaling ~$450. I am still hold 100sh of GRMN that I brought at 104.50. I am not really fond of the inverted hammer today, but I think it has a potention of going to atleast 106-107. Again, I have low threshold of pain for this market currently and I will be out with the slightest pinch.

Missed- SLB, AAPL

Watchlist for 09/4/2007

The start of the week has a longer watchlist as usual. A couple of long term bullish ideas in there: PFE, DNDN. The financials look like they are at a crossroads with a bullish bias. GS broke its longer term downtrend line on Friday.

It is going to be a busy beautiful Tuesday. Maybe a lot more buyers and more volume after the long weekend will be on the works this week. So hold on tight and enjoy the ride
